Hollyburn Heritage Society:  The Society’s biggest goal is working to preserve and restore Hollyburn Ski Lodge for future generations to enjoy.  Old photos, artifacts and stories are on display at the Lodge offering a nostalgic look back to the beginnings of today’s busy ski area.  Cypress Mountain whole heartedly supports the Society's enthusiasm and efforts.  Visit their website for lots of cool glimpses back to an earlier time to see why so many people have and will continue to fall in love with Hollyburn.  More Information...

Hollyburn Ridge Association (HRA): Cypress Mountain hosts events to which cabin folk are invited throughout the winter, such as holiday celebrations, Saturday night live music at Hollyburn Lodge (just like the old days), fun times Springfest and many more.  In turn, the HRA puts on a fall festival/loggers sports supported by Cypress at Hollyburn Lodge and First Lake every September.  Cypress offers special cabin passes at discounted prices for our cabin neighbours.  More Information...

Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club: Cypress Mountain supports the club in its many endeavours throughout the winter including the Jack Rabbit Ski League - a fun, progressive, skill development program for children (designed under the auspices of Cross Country BC).  This program has nurtured many young skiers that have gone on to compete and excel at very high levels.  With the Ski League and their many other programs and events - week days, week nights and weekends, the club's membership has a high profile on the Nordic trails.  Cypress offers season pass/group discounts to Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club members as well as all our other supported ski clubs.  More Information...

First Nations Riders:  To improve the quality of life and empower Aboriginal youth across Canada using the winter sport of snowboarding as a fundamental tool for excellence. The First Nation Snowboard Team members are ambassadors for Aboriginal people. We will continue to thrive, to have our First Nation Snowboard Team (FNST) athletes compete in Winter Olympic competitions. More Information...

Vancouver Freestyle Ski Club: The Vancouver Freestyle ski club is a member operated club dedicated to promoting freestyle skiing in the greater Vancouver area for young athletes 7 to 18 years of age.  They offer ski programs for both the recreational and competitive skier covering broad range of disciplines, including moguls, big air, half pipe and slope style. Cypress Ski Club: The Cypress Ski Club formed in 1986 as a non-profit organization to provide quality and affordable ski programs where each child can develop to their full potential in a fun, friendly, safe environment.  The club is active both on and off the snow and has a great family spirit which helps to develop friendships and a life long love of the outdoors. Special Olympics (Alpine Area):  Special Olympics BC (SOBC) is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to become productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition.  Cypress Mountain has been partnering with Special Olympics BC since 1990 providing a weekly 'Club Night' on the mountain.  SOBC athletes are given special rates and access to designated runs to train and practice on.  Each year we see a group of at least 30+ athletes, along with 20 Volunteer trainers partake in this program.

Special Olympics (Nordic Area):  Over 60 athletes and coaches arrive early Sunday mornings through January and February to recreate and train for their competitions in the sports of cross country, skiing and snowshoeing at Cypress Nordic.  Participants take to the trails for great fun, fitness and friendship.  Special Olympics have been sponsored by Cypress Mountain for over 20 consecutive years.  We are happy to support this organization, its coaches and athletes, waving all trail ticket and rental fees for their group sessions.  We always look forward to their visits.  For more information and contacts for this program please call us at cypress Nordic.

Nordic Racers Ski Club:  Cypress Mountain is the club's home base where its members meet, ski and train throughout the winter.  On Wednesday nights the club hosts CLUB NIGHT, a more formalized scheduled night for the club activities, meeting, skiing, coaching and training - and afterwards socializing at Hollyburn Lodge.  Cypress supports the club in its activities and many programs and offers group/club discounts for season passes.  More Information...

Strathcona Elementary School: Cypress Mountain has sponsored Strathcona Elementary school for the past 18 years. Children in selected grades in are treated to 2 days of lessons, rentals and a hot lunch in our Lodge. Each day consists of a 1 ½ lesson with our qualified instructors followed by lunch and then free skiing with their chaperons.  

The West Vancouver Youth Outreach Program and Ambleside Youth Centre offers programs and services to youth and families in West Vancouver, with the goal of providing positive alternatives to youth who might otherwise fall through the cracks. "The Summer Work Experience Program would not happen without the support from Cypress Mountain. Handsworth School: Royals Senior Girls Basketball Team. Last year was another record breaking season for the ladies, winning their second Triple AAA Provincial Championship in a row. Two seniors from this year’s team will go on to play post-secondary basketball, and all 7 Gr. 12 grads will be attending post-secondary education. Congratulations and good luck on the upcoming basketball season.

BC Snowboard (BCSB): The British Columbia Snowboard Association (BCSA) is a non-profit sport organization, which is the governing body of snowboarding with in the Province.  The BCSA is an organization that brings youth into a fun and supported environment while competing in a sport they love.  Up and coming National Team riders and future pro athletes are bred through the BCSA and its programs.  More Information...

UBC Ski Team: Cypress has supported the University of BC Nordic Ski Team for many winters by providing free and discounted season passes for their 10 member racing team.  With our sponsorship they are able to train on our trails and compete away from Cypress throughout the winter on limited budgets while attending university.  In return the team has assisted in race support for the “Tuesday Night Toonie” fun ski races at Cypress and has also organized and put on a fun, late season (March-Spring Break) ski race for our local skiers.

The Vancouver Skiers Cross Country and Touring Club:  Cypress Mountain has participated in club day clinics for their members and also offer group/club season pass and lesson discounts.  You won't meet a friendlier, more enthusiastic group of skiers anywhere!  More Information...

FASP (First Aid Ski Patrol): Started operating in 1938 and provided first aid services to the Hollyburn Ridge area from the 1930's,thru 1960's.  The patrol was re-established in the Nordic Area of Cypress Mountain in 1981 and has provided the volunteer ski patrol members since then.  The main focus of FASP is to provide first aid to injured skiers but their responsibilities also include risk management, safety operations, customer service and accident investigation.  FASP offers a Junior Patrol program for students aged 16-17, who volunteer with us to develop their communication and learning skills and eventually "graduate" to the regular patrol.  Please visit their website for further information (fasp.bc.ca)

CAUSES & CHARITIES:

Canadian Cancer Society and the Relay for Life: Our Relay for Life Team raised almost $22,000 this year (a new record), and a total of more than $120,000 over the past 9 years.  The money raised will be invested in cancer research to save lives, deliver trusted information and caring support to people living with cancer and cancer prevention initiatives.  Cypress Mountain is very proud to participate in the Canadian Cancer Society North Shore Relay for Life and to be part of such a worthwhile event.  More...

Donations: Every season Cypress Mountain receives hundreds of requests to support worthwhile programs and charities. We set a budget and have established criteria that allow us to support many of these wonderful and community supporting organizations by providing tickets and Cypress product that can be used in their fundraising efforts.  Some recipients have included BC Children's Hospital, Ovarian Cancer Canada, Pacifica Treatment Centre, YMCA of Vancouver, Dreams Take Flight, North Shore Chorus and the West Vancouver Memorial Library.  More...
