Moguls - Men's Finals @ Cypress Mountain - 17:30-18:30
Mogulist Alexandre Bilodeau won Canada's first ever gold on home soil laying down a near-perfect final run at Cypress Mountain on Sunday.
The 2009 overall World Cup champion executed a back full off the top air and a perfect-scoring back iron cross off the bottom air to earn a score of 26.75.
Dale Begg-Smith, competing for Australia, took the silver medal. American skier Bryon Wilson claimed the bronze medal.
British Columbia's Premier Gordon Campbell congratulated Bilodeau in a statement. "Canadians have been dreaming of this moment for decades and Alexandre's spectacular performance was a breath-taking moment for millions across our country," Campbell said. "This gold medal performance will be chronicled as one of the greatest moments in Canadian sport history. It will inspire millions of young people from across our country to work hard and pursue their dreams."
