ALPINE AREA UPDATES:

3:30 PM Update: A Fantastic Day today and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful evening on Cypress Mountain!

We're coming up soon to the start of our Night Owl Session - 2 Free Bonus Hours of Fun starting at 5 PM and you can come straight up after work this season without waiting until the clock strikes 7!! With a Gold Medal Card, along with other Great Perks, Adults get on the Lifts at 5:00 PM for just $31.00 (Youth and Child for less) at Western Canada's Biggest Night Area!! Tomorrow's (Saturday) Specials: We are excited to have the incredible instrumentals and vocals of the Lynn Canyon Band in the Cypress Creek Grill at 3 PM to 6 PM. Jane Appleby will be showcasing her artwork starting around 1 PM in the lobby on Level 2 - she will work on creating a masterpiece right before your eyes!

Our Value Special Meals in the Grill will be two of our favourites - the 3 Cheese Lasagna and Shepherd's Pie specials - both served with our Signature Caesar Salad and Delicious Garlic Toast! It looks like more Sun in the forecast so bring on the Skiing and Riding! 

Friday Early Morning Update:  With all of the new snow this past week and the huge coverage, the Grooming Crew have been working on projects to get some additional terrain groomed for the first time this season!

Last night they were very happy to get First Sun groomed out with our Monster PB 600 WinchCat - First Sun is the expansive lift line Run for Raven Ridge Quad on the East Face of Black Mountain - its a steep Black Diamond with some nice rollers and a great fall line pitch top to bottom - great for carving big GS turns. Rainbow, another Black Diamond on the South Face of Strachan off Lions Express looks delicious in the Sun this morning!! 

Canada Ski and Snowboard Festival - February 9 to February 12 (next Thursday to Sunday) - this is our mid-winter celebration and it's going to be a BIG ONE! Live music from a great line-up of Musicians - The Town Pants, Adam Woodall, Lynn Canyon Band, Robyn and Ryleigh and more plus DJ's, Fireworks, Contests, the first annual Beaver Jam in the Patio Park, Prizes and Fun with our Mascot "Big Bear" - we will also have our Hoser Menu and Lift Ticket Giveaway Contest back this year in Canada House (the Crazy Raven Bar and Grill) - check on the Button on the left for more details!

DAILY EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS: The Cruiser Band will be playing in the Cypress Creek Grill - we're told that you better stay off of their Blue Suede Shoes - thank you, thank you very much!

Friday Night is Family Pizza Night - 3 or more members of a Family with Friday Lift tickets or Season passes, can order a large size Pizza with choice of toppings and a Jug of Pop for just $10.00 - the pizza is baked and brought to your table in the Cypress Creek Grill! NORDIC AREA UPDATES:

The sun is out and forecast to shine all day.  41 of 44 of our Nordic ski trails are open, packed and trackset and in excellent conditions for both skate and classic skiing.  

Get Fit, Go Nordic - we are taking booking for our final skate clinic of the year.   Join us for 5 consecutive tuesdays starting on Feb 14 to learn or refine your skate ski technique, get some fresh air, exercise and meet new friends.

All of our 10+ km of snowshoe trails are open and in perfect condition. There is fresh snow in the trees, bluebird skies a great day to bring along your camera.

Join us with your Valentine on February 14 for breathtaking scenery amidst our forested meadows, as we take you off-trail to the historic Hollyburn Lodge or rustic Warming Hut for a chocolate or cheese & chocolate fondue.  Call our guest services office at 604-922-0825 to book now.

 

NORDIC AREA UPDATES:
Winter’s back in Cypress Nordic! We have lots of new snow so whatever adventure you have planned it will be a great day to enjoy the mountain. 
41/44 of our nordic ski trails are trails open, packed and track set.  The upper trails were regroomed until 11am, the lower trails will have and light accumulation over the the last groom which was completed at 8am.  We are expecting light snow today and heavy snow this evening.
The trees are covered in snow and the snowshoe trails are like a winter wonderland. Our tube park and sliding areas are fun for the whole family, so what ever your adventure its a great day to come and play in the snow.
Cypress Nordic is going GREEN.  Our compost program is now in full swing with the goal of reducing our garbage by 95% over the next 18 months.  Hollyburn Lodge and the Nordic Cafe are now serving with dishes designed to be turned back into soil for BC agriculture (yes even the cutlery and clear cups are made from plant based material, not plastic).  We have also replaced 2 of our snowmobiles with 4-stroke engines, which will reduce both noise and the smell of exhaust from our trails.
