Welcome to Cypress Mountain , the Official Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Venue for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Located in West Vancouver , BC , Canada , Cypress is only 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver and is proud to continue to provide our skiers, riders and sliders with the most vertical drop, most terrain, most lifts and best snow conditions on the highest skiing and riding peak of Vancouver 's Legendary North Shore Mountains .

 

New for the 2008-2009 Winter Season is a brand new centrally located, 48,000 square foot timber frame Day Lodge housing all facilities in one building, scheduled for Winter Season opening. The new lodge will feature a large main floor family restaurant, a banquet room, a corporate meeting space and a huge bar and grill overlooking the half pipe.

 

Ski Run improvements are planned for Benny's, Humpty Dumpty and new lighting is planned for Rainbow Ski Run. As well Cypress will be adding another 2 snow cats to our grooming fleet this winter!

 

This coming season marks the completion of the second phase of Cypress Mountain 's major transformation. 

 

You will also see the completed Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Venues for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as well as a state of the art snowmaking system. Be part of the excitement as Cypress Mountain will host the Freestyle Skiing FIS World Cup and the Snowboard FIS World Cup in February 2009. We hope that all our guests will join us in cheering on our Canadian Athletes competing on their home turf and setting their sights on 2010!

 

With unparalleled terrain and the largest vertical rise on the North Shore , Cypress Mountain is Vancouver 's premier winter playground. Cypress has 53 downhill winter skiing and riding runs accessed by 6 chair lifts and 2 surface lifts, 19km of track set cross country trails, a Snowtubing park with a tube tow lift and amazingly popular snowshoeing tours around the historic Hollyburn Lodge built in 1926.

Night Skiing

On all main runs - Ripcord, T33, Horizon, Upper Bowen, Collins, Runway, Panorama, Windjammer, Upper Fork, PGS, Shuttle, Terrain Parks and the SuperPipe.

 

Night Operation is scheduled from Dec 15th to March 23rd.

Snow Making

A state of the Art Fully Automatic Snowmaking System has been installed for the 2007.08 Winter Season.

 

Snow Making is on all Olympic Venues including Half Pipe (Lower Panorama Ski Run), SBX & SX (Fork Ski Run), PGS (previously Gully Ski Run), Aerials & Moguls. As well as on Panorama and Windjammer Ski Runs.

 

Cypress Mountain has 35 Snow Guns, 49 Hydrant Locations and a 5.3 million gallon reservoir and is designed to provide a minimum of 1 metre of cover on the Olympic Venues.

Cypress is recognized as the most popular cross country ski area in Canada, and can accommodate thousands of cross country skiers every day.

 

Over 19kms of groomed trails with 7km lit for night skiing amidst snow covered lakes and snowy mountain forests, Cross Country skiing at Cypress Mountain is a unique experience for the whole family.
