| 2010 Snowboard cross athlete Maƫlle Ricker has delivered Canada's second gold medal of the 2010 Olympic Games at Cypress Mountain. Ricker, the world's top-ranked World Cup circuit rider coming into the Games, finished Tuesday's race ahead of France's Deborah Anthonioz and Olivia Nobs of Switzerland. 2009-2010
Ricker earned her first World Cup victory of the season at the snowboard cross event in Chapelco, Argentina on Sept. 12.
2008-2009
Ricker earned her first World Cup medal of the season (bronze) at the snowboard cross event in Chapelco, Argentina on Sept. 13.
2006-2008
Between 2007 and 2008, Ricker earned seven World Cup podium finishes. After first place finishes in the 2007 snowboard cross events in Furano, Japan and Valle Nevado, Chile, she accumulated five more during 2008. At the end of the 2007-08 season, she was ranked first over-all in the snowboard cross World Cup standings.
She reeled off a string of snowboard cross medals at four consecutive World Cup events, earning gold in Sungwoo, Korea and Gujo-Gifu, Japan followed by silvers at Lake Placid, New York. and Stoneham Mountain Resort, Quebec as well as a bronze in Chapelco, Argentina.
