MOUNTAIN UPDATE - FEB 28, 2010

Now that the Games at Cypress are over and Cypress Mountain is the home Venue of the 1st Gold Medals for Canadian Men and Women on home soil, we are very excited to be re-opening for public skiing and riding.  The plan is to remove as much Olympic Overlay as possible over the next week and open to the public on March 9th.  Hours of operation will be announced soon.  Parking will be available in Lots 2, 3 and the Hwy Lot, similar to December and the Cypress Shuttle Bus will be operating as normal, consistent with the operating hours.

Our current plan is to open Sky Chair with T-33, Ripcord and Tom Cat in exceptional condition; Lions Express Chair with Upper Cat Track, Upper Bowen, Gibsons, Humpty Dumpty and Hutch in superb condition; and Horizon and Collins with superb upper conditions and ski outs on the bottom third (below the top of Midway Chair) - over 1200 vertical feet of excellent snow conditions!  Easy Rider Chair will also be open in good condition.  We hope to open portions of the Olympic Courses on Black Mountain as soon as possible after March 9th and we will keep you up to date on timing for this exciting opportunity!  The Lower Terrain Park was stripped of snow to move the "Field of Play" on Black Mountain, however we will be looking at alternative areas on Mt Strachan to build a temporary area for Park enthusiasts - keep in touch for this announcement!

The Crazy Raven Bar & Grill and Cypress Creek Lodge will be in full swing for a great Spring season!

Keep in touch with the website for exciting developments for the Spring season and start to make your plans to ski or ride on Cypress Mountain.  British Columbia's Only Gold-Medal Mountain!....with Big Mountain Alpine Skiing.

We hope to open as many Cross Country trails as possible and we will update you over the next week on available terrain.  The Tubing/Sliding Park will require fresh snow prior to opening for the Spring season.

PS: Please be aware, there are no Paralympic events being held on Cypress Mountain.
