Beginner Skate Lessons

Level up your winter adventures

Are you experienced in classic skiing and want to expand your cross-country toolbox? Time to try skate skiing! Skate skiing involves laterally pushing each ski to the side to generate propulsion. The motion is comparable to ice skating. If you have a good fitness level and are ready to try something new, then we recommend taking a skate skiing lesson.

  • Introduction to equipment and movement on skis
  • How to maintain balance, generate propulsion and change direction
  • Techniques for getting up after a fall
  • Introduction to free skate, one skate, herringbone and diagonal skate for hills
  • Downhill progression, including braking wedge and wedge turns
