What a treat to do a guest visit to my favorite ski home, Cypress Mountain.
What a treat to do a guest visit to my favorite ski home, Cypress Mountain. I love my new digs in the Kootenays, but it only took a minute being up here for all of the familiar "smells" to come flooding back in again. Ahhhhh.
We arrived early and were met by a lovely smiling lot attendant, Claudia. She directed us to the upper lot next to the Lodge. It pays to arrive early!
Next stop: Guest Services to get our passes. Hannah was very friendly and helpful.
As we were waiting, another familiar face comes by. Doug Dow from the retail shop. So good to see so many familiar faces, and grab a lovely new Cypress toque. Also had a chat with Lyon, the Base Operations Manager. Great guy at the helm here at Cypress
I bumped into Charlotte, a ski instructor, who was on her way to teach a little one. Robert - another friend and Snow School Supervisor said there are lots of great kids in ski school camps. So great to see the wee ones learning. Another instructor, Tomas from Czech Republic, is here for his eighth season. Loves skiing so much that he chases winter by going to Australia in the off season. So fun to see their passions for teaching.
Today it was snowing when we arrived, making for some great turns. Sky Chair especially as we got fresh tracks on super smooth runs.
Back at the Crazy Raven Bar, it's like old home day! Awesome to see Pier-Ann and Adam, with a new server today, Crystal, who recently moved here from Edmonton.
So blessed to have a day at one of my favorite places on earth 😍
