Dr. Jen's Ski Report - 01/08/20
Another good day to boost my mental health--and I needed it.
Being a business owner, a therapist, a wife, and a mother, all provide opportunities for stress. Counterbalancing that stress with exercise outdoors is key.
So Cypress Mountain here I come! Double that up with my good friend Kathy as my ski buddy today... wonderful. Today was a narrow escape of the rain expected.
Skied all morning in nice, soft, and forgiving snow. Great for easy turns with the low vis. Met an interesting fella on the chairlift. An employee named Ilon, which is Hebrew for Oak tree. He was teaching a young boy how to snowboard. He told me that in a Jewish fable his name is referred to as "a tree; a solid tree; the best tree in the forest". That's a lot to live up to!!
I was pleasantly surprised that Raven's chair was open today. First time for me this year. Loved skiing down Crazy Raven! I did feel a bit bad for Jack the lifty loading it at the bottom. Cold and lonely he was!
The pick of the day for me was Humpty Dumpty. It was protected from the weather with good vis and groomed for easy riding. Thank you Cypress for the therapy I needed today. And sorry you won't spot me in my iconic turquoise jacket anymore. It bit the dust. I had only had it since 2006?!
