Dr. Jen's Ski Report
First ski day of the season for me!
I must admit, I was a little giddy this morning as I was getting ready. I was up early, drinking lots of water, and stretching. Not that it would actually make up for my semi-sedentry last six months and the extra covid twenty that I've put on. Mama Mia, intermittent fasting here I come!
We started in guest services this morning to make sure our passes were all good. Lovely Natalie helped us and we were in and out in no time, after we snaked through the covid lanes created for the washrooms, guest services and the cafe. All very orderly and well marked.
Doug was hosting people, directing them to the proper protocols and mask requirements. Very lovely to see him again.
The lift protocols have also changed, with lots of signage about distancing and masks. The RFID gates are now located right at the lift. Open today was Eagle Express and Easy Rider. Howard was doing a great job loading, including clearing the chairs and mask checking.
I was very surprised at how great the snow was today, especially after yesterday's storm. The rain washed a bit of the snow away, and stopped the Lions Chair from opening, but no complaints here. First turns were awesome (although my legs would not agree!)
Panorama, Windjammer, Maelle Rickers, and Jersey Jay offered a lot of variety for runs. My fav today was Panorama.
After skiing I got my skiis waxed by Mike for only $11, and then I grabbed a bite in the Cypress Creek Grill. I was served by Hans, a young man from Sidney Australia, who was able to come on a work visa. The Crazy Raven Bar and Grill is set to open Friday, says Laura, a long timer here!! Glad to see familar faces.
All in all, SO glad to be out in the fresh air, getting some exercise, at my home away from home.
