Dr. Jen's Ski Report

Well, it is a good thing the ski hill is open, as apparently people really needed to get outdoors - - even when it's raining!!

Still no complaints here. I love getting in some turns and fresh air, and I have a lovely Cypress rain poncho to keep me dry.

Bonus today? Lions Express chair was open!! Whoo hoo for more mountain access, which was good today given that the parking lot was jammed. I think a lot of people either don't work on Fridays, or as I said above, they were going stir crazy inside.

In the Cypress Creek Grill, I met Marcus, who has been skiing Cypress almost 40 years! He was also a ski instructor here at one point. His comment on how much this mountain has changed over that time included stats on the number of people up here: back in the 80s 1200; 90s 2500; today 6000! I didn't fact check, but sounds impressive.

I can't drive home enough how important it is to get outside for your mental health, especially during this covid winter. If skiing or boarding isn't your thing, come up for tubing or go for a snowshoe. Your mind and body will thank you.
