Operational Plan

November 13th, 2021

Dear Skiers/Riders,

We are very excited about the upcoming season and look forward to welcoming you back to Cypress Mountain Resort.  The 2021/22 winter season is fast approaching, and we are extremely pleased to have received some recent snowfall and the current 14-day weather forecast looks favourable.

With that being said, we remain optimistic for additional snowfall next week and the ability to fire up our expanded “state of the art” snowmaking system.  Our Team has worked very hard over the summer upgrading our snowmaking system by adding 40% more coverage on Mount Strachan and increased the overall pumping capacity across the system by 25% - we cannot wait to put this good work to the test!

We are pleased to announce that Cypress Mountain Resort has purchased seven “Axess” Pickup Boxes to help improve Season Pass, Skycard and the daily Ticket distribution process.  We believe this technology will greatly speed up your journey onto the lifts and Nordic trails.

With every season start-up our top priority at Cypress Mountain is the enjoyment, welfare and safety of our Passholders, Guests and Team Members to ensure that everyone visiting the resort is offered the very best opportunity to have a safe and enjoyable experience.  We have implemented a mandatory vaccination policy for employees working at Cypress Mountain Resort.  We are not extending the mandatory vaccination policy to our guests at this time, however consistent with Provincial Health Authority advice we do encourage everyone to get vaccinated to help stop the spread of COVID -19.

The biggest news to announce is that consistent with Ski Resorts throughout BC, we will be operating chairlifts at full capacity this season! We still recommend all visitors wear face coverings while congregating, in lift lines and while riding on the chairlift.  Cypress Mountain has worked with the Provincial Ski Industry, Health Authorities to rollout best practices to protect the health and safety of our employees and guests for the upcoming season.

Please note that if the Provincial Health Authorities intervene with new guidelines during the course of the season, we will adjust protocols to satisfy those requirements.

Here are a few important things to know before you join us as we work together to help keep everyone safe.

“21/22 Winter Operational Update”

Face Coverings - As per the current Provincial Health Order, face coverings are required in all public indoor settings across Cypress Mountain Resort.  Cypress Mountain Resort does recommend wearing a mask at all times.  You are permitted to remove your mask when seated at one of our dining areas, so that you can enjoy your meal.

Proof of Vaccinations Requirements - For guests 12 and over, you will be required to show proof of double vaccination to visit licensed food and beverage outlets (Cypress Creek Grill, Crazy Raven Bar, and Hollyburn Lodge).  Guests 19 and over will also need to show a government issued photo ID.

Cleaning & Sanitization Protocols Regular and rigorous cleaning procedures will be conducted throughout the day and high touch point areas will be deep cleaned every night after closing in preparation for the following day.

Cashless – We will be continue to operate our resort cashless.

Pre-booking Online - We encourage all our guests to pre-book their tickets online in advance to secure the winter experience.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy the fresh winter air, the twinkling lights of our Lights to the Lodge Snowshoe Experience and those amazing views from the top of Sky Chair.  Please keep in touch with our website for updates with our opening preparations.

See you on the slopes!
