Latest News At Cypress Mountain

Saturday, Feb. 28 - 8 AM Update: Our "Best In the Business" Snowmaking Crew fired up the entire fleet of Snowguns overnight and they're continuing to make snow this morning! As we pile it up over the next few nights we'll look at grooming it out for a possible Wednesday opening.

We'll continue to monitor and update daily so please keep in touch with the Latest News.

This season may turn out similar to the Olympic year when we had warm sunny days through many of the event days in late February, then had a ton of snow and great deep powder conditions late in the season.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015 Announcement:

Cypress will now have our operations on standby and ready to re-open at the first sign of new snowfall or a snowmaking opportunity.  This winter has been a challenge so far and we have done everything we could to provide the best on-mountain operation possible since we first opened almost 3 months ago on November 15th.

Looking ahead, some of our best spring weather has come in seasons where we’ve had below average conditions earlier in the season – we’re holding onto hope that this will happen again in 2015.  Our season normally extends into late April so we still have plenty of time to run into a great stretch of weather and snow.  Check out the photos on our What’s New page or click HERE to see what we experienced in the spring of 2010 – down and out in February, then tons of snow in March and who can forget that 55 cm. dump of powder snow on April 10th – one of the most epic days ever!

Season Passholders: For our many valued and patient Season Passholders,  like you we are disappointed that mother nature has not been able to provide us with deep snow conditions so far this season, but again we’re hoping for the best over the next couple of months.  Regarding your individual Season Passes, as you will have noted when you purchased your pass, at the end of the Season we will total up the days counted in the category of your Pass within the Cypress Mountain Season Pass Assurance Program and inform you at that time.  This will form the basis for a calculated discount which will be applied against the purchase of your next year’s season pass.  We will make a fair assessment of the operating days based on the criteria listed at the time of sale, and we can assure you that many of the days we have been open to date will not count on the Assurance Program.

Please keep in touch with our web-site for updates and keep your eye on the forecast - we are already planning plenty of activities when we get snow and we’re hoping to have plenty of fun on the Mountain soon!
