HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC
Reports to: Chief Mechanic


Heavy Duty Mechanics work as part of a team with the Grooming and Snow Removal Manager, Graveyard Snow Removal Supervisor and Grooming Supervisor.

MAIN DUTIES
•    Perform scheduled service and maintenance on snowcats, plow trucks, loaders, graders, pick ups and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
•    Test and repair hydraulic and hydrostatic systems
•    Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
•    Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications
•    Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
•    Service attachments and working tools such as snowcats, blades, ploughs, winches and side booms; weld and fabricate attachments as required
•    May perform repair work on heavy trucks
•    May attach components and adjust new snow grooming equipment
•    Perform field service in adverse weather conditions
•    Operate snow removal equipment to maintain clear roads and parking areas
•    Complete log books and service records
•    Reorder parts and stock as needed
•    Maintain a clean work environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
•    Shift work is required, days and evenings, seven days a week
•    Some shifts may be on an on call basis and contingent on snow, weather conditions and ticket sales levels
•    Overtime may be required (must be approved)

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
•    Completion of a 3 to 5 year apprenticeship program
Or
•    A combination of over 4 years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in heavy equipment repair
•    Heavy duty equipment or commercial transport trade certificate may be required
•    Inter-provincial trade certification (Red Seal) preferred
•    Previous experience with electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and welding skills
•    Clean drivers abstract
•    Class 1 or 3 drivers license with air brake endorsement
•    Reliable transportation to and from work
•    Must supply own hand tools, weatherproof work safety boots and cold and wet weather clothing
•    Some heavy lifting over 50 lbs required


SNOW SCHOOL HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR

The Snow School Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of Work Safe and Guest Safety programs.

HOURS:

- 25 – 30 hours per week
- 5 days per week
- Must be available on weekends

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


- Maintains records of training and daily safety talks
- Reviews and modifies Safe Work Procedures as necessary
- Acts as the department Health & Safety Representative
- Ensures WorkSafe BC information is up to date
- Coordinates with patrol
- Completes incident reports and worker packages
- Communicates with Human Resources
- Records and distributes modified duties plans to supervisors
- Coordinates with WorkSafe BC and supervisors to develop Return to Work Programs
- Conducts follow up
- Communicates with department supervisors and managers regularly

SKILL SET REQIUREMENTS


- Strong administration and communication skills
- Database and computer friendly
- Comfortable working under pressure and in emergency situations
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Previous work in a first aid environment is an asset
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- First aid training is not required

SNOW SCHOOL SKI INSTRUCTORS
Reports to: Snow School Managers & Ski or SB Instructor Supervisor
$12 - $19 /hour d.o.e plus other perks

Ski Instructors instruct/facilitate lessons with everyone from wee tot to active seniors on how to improve their skiing skills.
We are looking for outgoing, charismatic, confident instructors who are passionate about teaching. You must enjoy working with people and working in the outdoors. Instructors must be familiar with lessons and pricing & products to continue to promote skill development and returning business. This is a front line customer service position. The work is dependent on customer demand. Ski & Snowboard instructors are also ambassadors on the mountain to ensure guests have a successful day and will return to Cypress.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC POSITIONS & REQUIRED AVAILABILITY  

SKI
-    Full Time Ski, 5 positions available. Fri, Sat & Sun + 2 other weekdays.  CSIA level 1 or higher
-    Part Time Ski – Saturday & Sundays. Weekday availability will be considered. CSIA level 1 or higher
-    Part Time Skooters (working with kids aged 3 – 6) – Saturday & Sundays. CSIA level 1 or higher

SNOWBOARD
-    Part Time SB (Boomers Program) – Thursday nights and/or Sunday Mornings. Must be of Boomer age to teach on the Boomer Program. CASI level 1 or higher

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum level 1 CSIA/CASI or equivalent
- Must be able to adapt/restructure lessons to accommodate individual learning styles, types of lesson (private, semi-private, and group).
- Second language a definite asset - Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills

VOLUNTEER SKOOTER HOST
Reports to: Skooter Supervisor

 

As a Skooter host you will be interacting with tots (and their parents) as they take their first lessons on snow.

You will be greeting guests, coordinating lesson check in, and helping out in our Skooter ski area.

We are looking for cheerful, energetic, people who love kids and like working outdoors. Ski experience is an asset but is not required.
You must be available for either Saturdays or Sundays and be able to provide an extra weekday shift over the holidays.

Availability for your assigned shifts Dec 17 – Jan 2 is required.
In return, you will receive an unlimited volunteer ski pass, with discounts and other great perks on the mountain.


RECYCLING CREW VOLUNTEER
Reports to: Enviromental Manager &/or Recyling Coordinator

Volunteers will undertake a variety of recycling tasks. Primarily volunteers will be stationed in Cypress Creek Lodge in the restaurant seating area educating and helping our guests with sorting of waste (compost) and recyclable materials.
 
MAIN DUTIES:
- Volunteers will report into their supervisor at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Help and educate guests in the seperation of "waste" and recycling.
- Some manual sorting of recycling materials required.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- works primarily inside
- some heavy lifting may be required
 
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Individuals should be passionate about the environment and "doing the right thing".
- Able to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to work in an organized manner during busy periods.
- Previous customer service experience an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

One six hour shift per week required; compensation includes an unlimited volunteer ski pass, with discounts and other great perks on the mountain.


GRILL COOK (Captain)
Reports to:
Food Beverage Director

The Cypress creek cafe grill cook is not only a position which requires timely and quality preparation of product, but also the ability to display leadership qualities and interact with our guests.

MAIN DUTIES:
- Prepare all food items, following standardized recipes and procedures within specified time limits
- Stocking of front service line with appropriate quantities of food product and service ware
- Prep assigned items
- Grill, deep fry, bake, broil and microwave raw and prepped foods
- Measure and assemble ingredients and cook items according to recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cooking line in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
- Stock/restock items on cooking line according to  procedural specifications
- Wash and clean all raw food products
- Peel, dice, shred and slice food products using electrical equipment
- Foster a positive and enjoyable work experience for all front line GET service members.
- Anticipate menu item display cabinet levels based on volumes of guests
- Effectively communicate guest special orders to fellow GET service members
- Consistently communicate with guests to ensure prompt service and order accuracy
- Main food safe practices and regulations at all times
- Ensure company uniform policy adhered to at all times by all front line GET service members
- Ensure guest complaints and requests are resolved immediately

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Previous line grill experience
- Ability to organize and motivate staff
- Basic to intermediate cooking skills

CRAZY RAVEN BAR & GRILL SUPERVISOR

Reports to: Food Beverage Director

The Crazy Raven Bar and Grill Supervisor assists the Food and Beverage director in managing daily Crazy Raven bar and grill floor operations. The Crazy Raven bar and grill Supervisor works within administrative guidelines, regulations and other food service sources such as policy and emergency manuals and Food and Beverage Manager directives. The Crazy Raven bar and Grill supervisor coordinates and oversees all floor service staff operation to ensure the best possible guest experience,  reviews the work performance of all Crazy Raven Bar and Grill service members to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, policies and procedures . The Crazy Raven bar and grill supervisor Provides leadership, support and guidance to all Crazy Raven bar and Grill service members to ensure that quality standards, plant safety, food safety guidelines and guest expectations are met.

MAIN DUTIES:

- Supervises departmental GET  Crazy Raven bar and Grill service members
- Maintains impeccable guest service at all times
- Monitors work methods, standards of performance, sanitation and safety standards
- Responsible for discipline and conflict resolution
- Fosters an atmosphere of partnership and cooperation with a lead by example approach
- Conducts coaching sessions and staff appraisals
- Assigns side and cleaning duties
- Requisitions stock requirements for bar rail and back bar inventory
- Conducts daily briefing informing Get service staff of special events, menu changes and or menu deletions
- Assigns daily sections
- Submits daily bar stock inventory
- Conducts daily spot checks on daily inventories
- Schedules all Get Crazy Raven Bar and Grill service members and ensures workforce is commensurate with business levels
- Ensures security of all company assets and property
- Responds to and resolves guest requests, issues and complaints and forwards detailed summary and/or complaint forms to Food and beverage Director for follow up
- Ensures all GET Crazy Raven bar and Grill service members adhere to uniform policy each shift
- Ensures all GET food production and service members are trained  prior to assigning tasks
- Maintains a safe work environment at all times. Any deficiencies must be corrected by the appropriate personnel (Electrician, Gas fitter, maintenance) immediately. A detailed report must be submitted to the Food and beverage Director for follow up
- Ensures the efficient and effective operation at all times

Mountain Operations

LIFT ATTENDANT: Assisting our skiing/snowboarding guests on and off of the lifts in a safe and courteous manner is the essence of the lift attendant.  All work is outside and you must be 18 years of age and training will be provided.

SNOW REMOVAL/GROOMER: Operating heavy equipment such as Bombardier snow cats, snow plow trucks, snowblowers, graders or loaders.  You must have related equipment operating experience and proper BC Driver's License.  Shift work is required.

PRO-PATROL: Administering First Aid to injured skiers and snowboarders and maintaining safe conditions of the ski trails and base area.  Must be an advanced level skier or snowboarder and have your OFA Level III or equivalent 90 hour First Aid certificate.  You must also have patrol experience or First Aid attendant experience and be able to ski “t-bogs” down icy black diamond runs.

TRAIL MAINTENANCE: Working outdoors maintaining the ski area boundaries, setting poles, ropes and safety zone markers. Must be an advanced level skier/snowboarder, and physically capable of carrying loads up to 50 lbs.

Alpine Snow School
SKI/SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR: Supervise and instruct classes on the ski hill as well as assist with School events and operations. Must have CSIA/CASI level 1 certification or equivalent. Individuals with Level 2 and/or dual certification will be given preference.
 
SNOW SCHOOL SALES: Selling lesson packages to our Guests. Strong customer service skills are essential, and administrative skills are mandatory.
Guest Relations
GUEST EXPERIENCE REPRESENTATIVE: Selling and processing a variety of seasons passes. Answering phones, general Guest inquiries. Administrative skills and strong customer service background essential.
 
TICKET OFFICE CASHIER: Must be bondable, reliable and able to handle transactions quickly with excellent customer service skills. Mountain and product knowledge required.
Base Area Operations

PARKING ATTENDANT: Directing traffic in the parking lots, ensuring safety of guests and staff. Position is outside, working in all weather conditions.

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE WORKER: Snow shoveling and maintaining the base area for guest safety. Must be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE: A variety of indoor janitorial duties to keep common areas, including washrooms, clean and functional.

Cross Country

NORDIC SKI HOST: Ensure that all skiers on trails have a valid day ticket or season pass, while also establishing positive public relations.

NORDIC MAINTENANCE: A variety of outdoor maintenance and minor construction duties to keep base area facilities safe, clean and functional (includes snow shoveling).

NORDIC FOOD SERVICES: Enjoy working in a rustic cabin in the cross country area.  Just a 10 minute walk or ski in to historic Hollyburn Lodge. Base area food service positions also available.
    
NORDIC ADMINISTRATION: Daily operations of the Ski School Office, Guest Services and Ticket sales, including lesson bookings and group arrivals.  Must have strong customer service skills, the ability to multi-task and handle transitions quickly and accurately.

SNOW PLAY AREA ATTENDANT: Assisting guests in the snow tubing park, which may involve operating the ‘tube tow’.  

NORDIC SKI PATROL: Administering First Aid to injured skiers and maintaining safe conditions of ski trails.  You must have your OFA Level III or equivalent 80 hour First Aid certification.  Patrol experience or First Aid attendant experience required.

NORDIC SKI SNOW SCHOOL: Instructors are responsible for the supervision and instruction of classes and assisting with Snow School events and operations. CANSI certificate required. Snowshoe Guides are responsible for leading interpretive tours through the Nordic Area, with a focus on fun and safety.

NORDIC RENTALS: Handling cash transactions quickly and accurately as well as the maintenance and the signing in/out of equipment.

Food Services

BAR COOK: Preparing a variety of "Pub Style" menu items in a high volume, fast paced kitchen is the main focus of this position.  Food Safe and a minimum of 3 years experience is required.

FRONT LINE COOK: Cooking a variety of cafeteria food items in a high volume, fast paced environment.
    
PREP COOK/DISHWASHER: An entry-level position that consists of assisting cooks in preparation of all menu items, slicing and portioning of food.  Washing and sanitizing of kitchen small wares, dishes and equipment.

FLOOR SUPERVISOR: Energetic individuals with a minimum 2 years management experience in a similar type operation.  Interpersonal skills and leadership abilities are necessary to fill this challenging, seasonal position.  “Serving it Right” and “Food Safe” certification are required as well as knowledge of P.O.S. systems.

BARTENDER: A "Serving It Right" certificate (available through any BC Liquor Store) is necessary and you must be 19 years of age.

SERVER: "Serving It Right" certificate (available through any BC Liquor Store) is mandatory.  A fast paced “pub style” atmosphere requiring experienced servers.    

CASHIER: Pleasant, bondable mature individuals who are able to handle high volume sales. Cash handling experience preferred.

BUSSER: Cleaning tables and trays, and disposing of waste in the cafeteria are your main responsibilities.
    
FRONT LINE SERVICE ATTENDANT: Taking and filling food orders of our guests in the Cafeteria. High volume, fast paced environment.

Rental Center

SKI & SNOWBOARD TECHNICIAN: Technical certification is provided for those with some mechanical aptitude and an ability to work quickly and efficiently setting the bindings on rental skis and boards.

CASHIER: Pleasant, bondable mature individuals who are able to handle high volume sales in a pleasant manner.

REPAIR TECH: Tuning and repairing of both skis and snowboards.  You will be working on both customer’s equipment and rental equipment.  Experience is necessary for this position.
