THE EAGLE COASTER RIDE

The Eagle Coaster starts with a scenic ride up Eagle Express — through the trees, with views over Howe Sound, to the top of Black Mountain. From there, it's a 1,700-metre descent with a 279-metre drop, and you're in control the whole way down with a handbrake that lets you set your own pace, up to 40 km/h.

It's built for everyone — thrill-seekers who want to push the speed, and families who want to take it slow. Riders as young as 3 can join as a passenger, riding along with an adult.

Your ticket includes:

  • Eagle Express chairlift to top of Black Mountain
  • Eagle Coaster ride(s) down 1.7km (over 1 mile)
  • Free parking, all summer

No mountain pass required. No parking fee. Just book your time slot in advance and go.

IMPORTANT: Eagle Coaster time slots tend to sell out, especially on weekends and holidays. We strongly advise you to book in advance. When you arrive, check in within your 30 min booked time slot - rides are given out first-come, first-served, so you may experience a short wait.

Know before you go

Eagle Coaster Safety

  • The Eagle Coaster is extremely popular and time slots tend to sell out, especially on weekends and holidays. We strongly advise you pre-book your time slot to avoid any disappointment.
  • Arrive within your booked window. When you book, you'll get an arrival window rather than an exact start time. Check in any time during that window — rides are then given out first-come, first-served, so a short wait once you're checked in is normal, especially on busy days.
  • We recommend the 2-ride ticket — most riders find a single trip down goes by fast, and back-to-back rides let you get comfortable with the handbrake before really opening it up.
  • There's no washroom at the top of Eagle Coaster — please use the facilities at Cypress Creek Lodge before you head up.
  • Please note, leave larger bags and backpacks in a secure spot (like your vehicle or with a friend) while riding the coaster. We will have open storage available at the bottom of the lift for any loose items you are comfortable leaving while you take your ride.
  • Your Coaster ticket includes a ride up the Eagle Express chair lift.
  • All dates and hours of operation are subject to weather conditions or logistics issues. Cypress Mountain reserves the right to close the Eagle Coaster due to inclement weather or conditions that may affect the operations of the coaster.
  • To ride alone you must be 8 years or older and 4’1” or taller.
  • The maximum weight capacity per cart is 118kg (260lbs).
  • If you have purchased a two-ride ticket the rides must be used back to back before the ticket expires.
  • Lift operations, hours and reservations are subject to change without notice.
  • Minimum of 16 years of age to ride with a passenger in the cart or passengers must be no taller than the driver's shoulders when seated in the cart together.
  • Passengers must be a minimum age of 3 and a maximum age of 7. They are required to be 96cm (3' 2") tall and must ride with an adult. The passenger must not be taller than the driver's shoulders.
  • Riders must have sufficient physical dexterity, ability, and knowledge to safely load, ride, and unload the coaster.
  • Use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
  • The coaster is not recommended for pregnant women and those with pre-existing neck or back injuries.
  • Respect attendants at all times.
  • Animals are not permitted on the chairlift or coaster.


  • All dates and hours of operation are weather and conditions permitting. Cypress Coaster will close if conditions are unsafe (ie. lightning, high winds, hail, etc.)
  • All products are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased.
  • You must arrive at the coaster for your allotted time, otherwise you may forfeit your ride.
  • Lift operations and hours are subject to change without notice.
  • Resale, Replication, Loan or Transfer of this Pass/Card is fraudulent and illegal.
  • Prices are in Canadian Dollars.
  • Taxes not included.
