Scenic Rides

The Summer Scenic Ride includes three different open-air chair lifts: the Eagle, Lions and Sky Chair lifts.

ELEVATED VIEWS

The Summer Scenic Ride includes three different open-air chair lifts: the Eagle, Lions and Sky Chair lifts. The Eagle Chair takes you up Black Mountain to 1200m (3940ft). The Lions and Sky Chairs take you up Mount Strachan to 1440m (4720ft).

Early season runs on select days from May 30 to June 26 and includes the Eagle Chair only.

Peak season runs from June 27 to Sept 7, and includes the Eagle, Lions and Sky Chairs.

Fall season runs on select days from Sept 10 to 20.

NEW Sunset Scenic Rides

In August, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Lions Chair and Sky Chairs are open until 8:45PM so you can experience the highest lift-accessed sunset viewpoint in Vancouver. Take in the 360 views at the golden hour of sunset. Please dress for mountain conditions as the temperatures drop as the sun sets and you are riding an open chair.

Know before you go

  1. Children must be able to walk on and off the lift on their own.
  2. Children between 32" and 3'9" (1.2m) are required to be accompanied by an adult.
  3. Please note, baby strollers or carriers are not permitted on the chairlift.
  4. Animals are not permitted on the chairlift.
  • All dates and hours of operation are weather and conditions permitting. Chairlift will close if conditions are unsafe (ie. lightning, high winds, hail, etc.)
  • All products are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased.
  • Lift operations and hours are subject to change without notice.
  • Resale, Replication, Loan or Transfer of this Pass/Card is fraudulent and illegal.
  • Prices are in Canadian Dollars.
  • Taxes not included.

Allow 30 mins to ride the Lions Chair and Sky Chairs one way. In total you will need a minimum of 1 hour for the Scenic Ride experience on Lions & Sky chairs. Sunsets August 1 around 8:50pm and by August 31 it sets at 7:55pm, so plan accordingly.

Lions Chair (10-12min ride one way). Base of mountain

  • The last chair up is 6:30pm. Last chair down is 6:50pm.
  • AUGUST EXTENDED HOURS: Every Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sunday extended hours for Sunset. The last chair up is 8:45pm and last ride down Lions chair is 9:50pm.

Sky Chair (10-12 min ride one way). Walk on gravel path approx. 4 mins from top of Lions Chair to Sky Chair

  • The last chair up is 6:10pm and the last chair down is 6:30pm.
  • AUGUST EXTENDED HOURS: Every Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sunday extended hours for Sunset. The last chair up is 9:00pm and last ride down Sky chair is 9:30pm

Eagle Chair (10-12 min ride). Base of mountain.

  • The last chair down is 6:40pm.
